Vegan Vox Reviews...Tibits Restaurant, London

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to London to try out the new all-vegan days at Tibits Restaurant. Tibits is an all-vegetarian restaurant on Heddon Street, just off Regent Street in Central London. A few times a month, they have an all-vegan day at the restaurant, which means all of their buffet showboat is full of yummy vegan starters, salads, mains and desserts as well as an extensive drinks menu including fresh juices and vegan beers.

We arrived at the restaurant and were shown to our seat by the manager who was a lovely lady, full of useful information on the food and drinks and we were seated under a beautiful chandelier.

We had some soft drinks and cashew nuts whilst we were getting settled and then went up to look at the impressive buffet range.

The buffet consisted of a range of healthy salads, hot dishes, snacks and sides.

This is what I chose for my main meal:

Tabouleh, couscous, breaded tofu escalopes, ratatouille and lots of tasty vegetables.

Mr Vox had the following:

Pizza, crusty bread roll, salad, tofu slices, onion rings, guacamole and falafal. We both really enjoyed our meals, they were fresh and tasty and full of flavour. There was a good range of dishes to mix and match to suit all diets, including gluten-free and raw vegan.

You choose your items and then take your plate to be weighed at the till, the food is charged by weight to reduce food waste often associated with buffet restaurants.

Next we had some more drinks, Mr Vox went for a vegan beer by Brew Dog and I had a fresh Carrot, Apple and Ginger juice which was super refreshing.

Next, it was time for dessert. There was a nice selection of desserts on offer:

I went for fresh strawberries with cherry coconut cream, it was so nice and light.

Mr Vox had the sticky toffee pudding with chocolate cream - pure decadence.

We finished off with a coffee and a loyalty card, as we will definitely be returning!

Tibits is our new favourite London restaurant and we will be returning later this month.

Vegan Vox Reviews...RAW at La Suite West, London

Recently, I went on a short break to London, and whilst there I booked me and Mr Vox in for a vegan afternoon tea at RAW at La Suite West. The restaurant is an all vegan, mainly raw restaurant in a boutique hotel near Hyde Park. The standard of food and presentation was excellent. The attention to detail and service was great too. We booked ahead online and paid £15 each for our afternoon tea.

Here is the menu, we had three food courses and a selection of teas, coffees or sparkling water to drink.

The first course was a selection of gourmet finger sandwiches:

Then the waiter asked us which was our favourite sandwich and brought us an extra individual sandwich in that variety. My favourite was the mushroom and pesto.

Next we had warm scones with strawberries, jam and freshly whipped coconut cream. I do not have the words to describe these delights. Just go and try them!

Our final course was a trio of mini desserts. A chocolate and coconut raw cake, a sesame halva and a lemon chocolate raw cheesecake. These desserts were very rich, I couldn't finish them all but each one was so delicious.

The restaurant itself was very secluded at lunchtime and peaceful, well decorated with a great ambiance. The waiter service was second to none. We would definitely return, maybe for an evening meal next time.

Do you know anywhere else serving an all vegan afternoon tea? Give me your recommendations in the comments below. Have you been to RAW? What did you think?

Vegan Vox Reviews...The Mighty Fork

If you live in or around London and haven't tried The Mighty Fork yet, you are missing out! I met up with Rita (one of the co-owners) at VegFest in London a few months ago to find out more about this amazing all-vegan hotdog company.

Rita and her husband are Portuguese and have been vegetarian since 2006 and vegan since 2012. They moved to London two years ago and found the vegan food scene to be lacking in good quality fast food. So in July 2013, they started The Mighty Fork, a 100% plant-based mighty hot dog company, that sell their products across London at outdoor events, food festivals, street food stands and markets.

They sell a range of globally inspired hot dogs, each inspired by a different culture or country. For example, they have a Japanese inspired Yasai Dog, with wasabi and sweet onions. There is a Portuguese inspired Brew Dog, with a homemade beer sauce and a German hot dog with sauerkraut. All of their toppings and fillings are homemade, and they soy hotdog sausages are imported from Germany.

If you follow The Mighty Fork on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram they regularly update as to where they will be next so you can pop along and sample their fine wares. Be warned though, these hot dogs are very popular and were sold out within a few hours at VegFest. Get there early!

Have you tried The Mighty Fork yet? If so which are your favourite flavours? Let me know in the comments below.
