The Ordinary Vegan - Marmite

I get it! You either love it or you hate it, but Marmite as well as being vegan is full of great B vitamins and is a versatile ingredient. It's not just for spreading on toast. It tastes great in paninis, vegan cheese toasties, wrapped up in a pastry parcel, stirred into baked beans, add a teaspoon into soups, stews and casseroles too. You can add boiling water and make a yeasty drink and can spread it on crackers or dip breadsticks into it. Marmite is sold at all supermarkets, convenience stores, some newsagents and petrol stations.

How do you eat your Marmite?

Come back tomorrow for another Vegan Recipe of the Week.

  1. We love it on toast, alone or with tomatoes or with lessarella & tomatoes. Our daughters were missing it so much here in Croatia that grandma brought them 2 jars when she came to visit. And now its almost gone....lol

    1. Oooh with tomatoes on toast sounds lovely! If I ever moved out of the UK, I'd have to take a stash of Marmite with me! VVx

  2. I like marmite on toast, and it makes a great stock for gravy, along with some vegetable water, oil and flour.
